Young Learners’ English Program

In the era of Globalization, it has become a necessity for students to be able to communicate and engage not only locally within their own country but also internationally. ICEC Private Schools understand that fulfilling these requirements is a core responsibility of their educational mission. Accordingly, to ensure that young students achieve proficiency in the four skills of English—the global language—Additional English (4 skills) has been introduced as a supplementary subject at our respective schools.

Consequently, only students who are proficient in English will have excellent opportunities to pursue further international education.

To provide these great opportunities, while ICEC Private High Schools teach students using the curriculum prescribed by the Ministry of Education, they also aim to enable students to follow an international educational path. Therefore, starting from the (2023-2024) academic year, English is being taught officially as a supplementary subject using the Edexcel Curriculum (Young Learners) and (Adult level) courses from the Pearson Education Company of the UK.

The Pearson English Young Learners levels are designated and taught by grade as follows:

Students from Grade 3 to Grade 9 are not required to go to external centers to take the English 4-skills exams conducted by Pearson. They will take the exams right at the examination centers held within our ICEC schools by paying the examination fees. Upon passing, they will receive internationally recognized certificates awarded by Pearson, UK. Furthermore, their English language proficiency will significantly improve.

Therefore, students attending ICEC Private High Schools will not only master English through an international standard curriculum but will also be trained by expert teachers to obtain internationally recognized certificates. Plans are in place to provide practice with actual exam formats. In addition to providing sufficient time for training, supplementary classes have been arranged to allow for repeated practice with exam patterns.
